You want to visit the Basel Carnival? Great, the following information will help you find your way around.

Arrival

The easiest way to get there is by public transport. Basler Verkehrsbetriebe, Baselland Transport AG and SBB will operate special services during carnival.

If you come by bike or e-bike, please park your vehicle outside the route of the Cortège.

Route map Cortège

On Monday and Wednesday afternoons, around 11,000 carnival participants present their costumes and themes. Our route map will tell you which route they take.

Barrier-free access

The Fasnachts Committee and the IVB facilitate access to the Cortège for people with limited mobility.

 

Grandstands

Stands with seats are available at Claragraben. Admission tickets can be obtained free of charge from our office. Around 100 seats are available each afternoon, the number of tickets available is limited.

 

Reserved wheelchair spaces

IVB provides around 50 wheelchair spaces and 200 seats (chairs) at Claraplatz. Registration is not necessary, reservations cannot be made. Further information can be found on the IVB homepage.
